This man is the head honcho of Warehouse Liquors.  His job is to make sure the gears of the company are operating smoothly at all times.  But, that doesn't stop him from getting to know his customers.  No, you can find Gene on the main floor in the early mornings, greeting and helping the Warehouse Liquors patrons.  Whether you have more expensive taste or you’re looking for a more economical way to get inebriated, Gene’s goal is to help you locate quality products that fit into your budget. 

Though Gene knows his spirits like the back of his hand (whiskey being one of his favorites), his assistance with your alcohol-shopping experience doesn’t have to stop there.  For over 25 years he has been a driving force in the south loop.  After being in a neighborhood for that length of time, you tend to find the hidden treasures that only Chicago natives know about.  So whether you need a BYOB restaurant to try out your newly purchased beverages or you just have general south loop questions that need answers, Gene is the man to see.

"The Beer Guru"

If you're asking yourself whether or not you want to talk to Johnny Marsh, you should also be asking yourself the following three questions:

1. Do I like beer?
2. Do I enjoy fine craft brew?
3. Are the Sox going to win the World Series?

Did you answer yes to ANY of these?  If you did, then Johnny is the man you want to talk to.  You'd probably also like to know that Johnny has built the beer kingdom that is Warehouse Liquors from the ground up.  He laid down the foundation with the array of brilliance that is The Raging Bitch ale from Flying Dog Brewery.  He's sowed the fields with the deep, colorful, and highly alcoholic cherry flavor of the Kasteel Rouge.  He has calmed his people's worried minds with La Fin Du Monde from Unibroue.  He is the King of the Beers (not to be confused with Budweiser).

But, in all seriousness, the man knows his beer.  If you’re curious about a beer, ask him questions about it.  Trust me, he's tried it.  Though he tends towards the stouts, his broad range of knowledge doesn't stop there.  Whether you know what you want or you’re looking for something new, he can teach you the way of The Beer Guru and help you identify your palate's needs.
